Where off again in August.

It’s been 7 months since our last blog post. Some people have been emailing to see if we are still alive and what our plans are for our next trip and what we are up to.

Our trip for 2016 has been booked and compared to our last couple of trips which were 6 months this will only be for 6 weeks leaving Adelaide [Australia] on the 21st of August and returning on the 4th of October. The reason for such a short trip is that we are working on a new venture which will take most of the year to get up and running. More about this later in the blog.

We will be joined on this trip with Lori [Jenny’s sister] who has travelled with us for 6 weeks in 2014 and for only 17 days in 2015 as the trip was cut short due to Lori’s and Jenny’s mother passing away. Lori has been an easy travelling companion and we had no hesitation in inviting her along for this next adventure. I am hoping that someone will ask why I have 2 wives, no-one has yet!!

With only 6 weeks we will stating in Holland as that is where the “Bunyip” lives and travelling to Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium and the most of our time will be in France. We hope to be visiting some of the places we missed seeing on the last trip due to the sad ending with time being cut short. Also we hope to catch up with some friends we haven’t seen for awhile.

Our motorhome “the Bunyip” has not been sitting idle as friends Helen and John, along with Helen’s sister Ann are taking a trip for three months to England, Ireland and Scotland. They have used the “Bunyip” in 2013 where they explored Europe for a 3 month trip, we know that it is in safe hands and we wish them well on their travels. They are currently in Ireland and by all reports having a great time.

Happy Birthday Bunyip

The “Bunyip” has had its 20th birthday last March. It’s still going strong, not bad for a motorhome that has travelled through more than 40 countries. It may not be the newest, prettiest, fastest or have all the wiz-bang gadgets but it’s ours, and we love it. Long may you run. “Neil Young song”

Happy birthday Bunyip. You have served us well. Long may you run.

Blog updated

For the motorhomers who follow this blog I have updated some of the information and added some new pages. I will continue to do so as time permits. Some of the updates and new pages are listed below if you are interested.

Updated our map pages 2014 and 2015 with itineraries of where we have been with costs of our overnight stays.

There are a few more stories in our Tales from the Motorhome. We continue to meet some amazing people and have some experiences that we will never forget.

We did have another brush with the police on our last trip. Don’t worry we didn’t get arrested or harassed. Read about our experience with the Moldovan Police.

I have updated our links page adding and reviewing some of the useful links that have helped us plan and travel through Europe.

Links Page

We have included a page on how we wash our clothes while traveling. The mundane jobs still need to be carried out. With no washing machine and spending most of our time wild camping we have had to improvise.

Many of the other pages have been tweaked so that the information is more up to date. This is an ongoing process that I will endeavour to continue during the year.

Thanks for all the feedback we have received while traveling and continue to receive.

Great blog. We are taking care of Bunyip. Another Ford Transit owner stopped to talk to John the other day. His is new with all the bells and whistles but has had lots of trouble. Wished his was like Bunyip.

  2. Happy 20th Birthday to the Bunyip! Your next adventure sounds exciting, Camo and I so wish we were heading back to Europe again. Congrats on the new venture also x
