Where to Stay ?

Motorhoming gives you great flexibility ,unpack once and you have all you need in the one place. It’s your transportation, kitchen, bedroom, sitting area and bathroom. this makes finding a place for the night easier than tents, caravans, backpacking or staying in hotels.

Finding somewhere to stay can depend on your comfort level. We have traveled with people who will only stay in a caravan parks and there are other people who mainly wild camp. There are pro’s and con’s to every type of place to stay. We have one agreement and that is we will only stay where we both feel safe. We have driven up to aires where some people have made themselves a permanent home for themselves along with all their rubbish etc and so we chose to continue on. You will often see a motorhome or two stopped in a place and before long a few more park up close by, there seems to be an idea that if they can, we can. Also I think it is the feeling of security in numbers. We find it is a great opportunity to meet other like minded people, exchange new ideas and routes and share a glass/cup of beverage. A smile, a wave, a few questions about where they have been and going and you don’t know where the conversation will end. We have had good advice about places to visit and directions to travel when we have taken the time to be friendly. Helpful people love to tell you about a great scenic drive or a quiet pretty spot to stop for a night or two. We have been given maps and directions to some out of the way places that have been a wonderful experience for us and made our holiday something out of the ordinary.

Below are some of the ways we have found to stop overnight.
