Macedonian Scooter Man

We were travelling in Macedonia and entering the town of Ohrid, a town on a lake which shares the border with Albania. We decided to pull over and have a look at our maps to see if we could find a place to stay for a night or two. We had started looking at the map on our tablet when a scooter pulled up alongside of us. As our motorhome is obviously Australian with kangaroos etc. the man told us that he had lived in Australia for a while and could he be of help. We told him that we were looking for a place to stay and no obvious place had come up. He  told us there were no campgrounds in the immediate area but  we could stay anywhere and showed us on the map where there was a spot on the side of the lake that would be suitable to park up and stay. He gave us his phone number in case we had any problems, we said our farewells and he drove off. We found the place next to the lake and it was just up the road from a police station so we felt very safe. There was even fresh water available for us to fill up our water tanks. During the day the place was very busy near a swimming spot and we had many people asking us did we really come from Australia and we even had some Australians come and say hello as they were there visiting relatives in Macedonia. We spent a couple of days riding our bikes to the old part of the city and swimming in the lake. Our thanks go out to the friendly Macedonian scooter man who directed us to our parking spot.
